About the event
Angela gained a degree in Agricultural Botany followed by research into the genetics of wheat at the Plant Breeding Institute at Cambridge. Spent 22 years working for the Open University as a lecturer, examiner, and writer of plant and human biology courses.

'The Power of Plants - healers or killers?' From ancient times up to the present day, plant substances have been used as herbal remedies and poisons. Herbal remedies are natural so they must be harmless and beneficial - but are they?
This entertaining talk will cover a wide range of plants from those with medicinal properties to those which can poison and harm.
